The Piaroa medicine of Yopo

We invite you to participate to a programme fully dedicated to the medicine, with our Piaroa brothers of Venezuela, to encounter the Yopo medicine.

It’s not that we are inviting natives to come and serve medicine in our place. We are talking about an encountering between our two clans that, in reality, are a single family; each one has the same medicine connection with particular complementary aspects.

Don Juan, the person in charge of the Piaroa clan of Venezuela, is the son of Don Bolívar, medicine man and peaceful leader recognised in South America and beyond as one of the greatest of our age, for his humility, his heart, his level of connection, his infinite wisdom and his visions for a healthy humanity.

It is he that is in charge of the community in Venezuela and with whom we are in close contact.

It is he that will give the Yopo during the programmes.

We foresee that, after the programmes, 3 people from his group will stay longer with us in Peru, our lands also being theirs, so that they can give ceremonies on a regular basis.

Sri Gopal, the medicine man and elder leader of our collective, encountered Don Bolívar for the first time 25 years ago, in a Yopo ceremony served by Don Bolívar and his wife Doña Elena, here in the Sacred Valley and other times in Venezuela; receiving then from Don Bolívar, la canasta, the connection of his ancestral lineage in an official and recognised way.

His life journey is incredible. We will recount it to you for him, now that he is guiding us from the other plane.

He himself formed and authorised several people of our collective to serve the Yopo medicine in his footsteps.

Our two families have been linked for some 25 years!

A programme in close collaboration

This programme, we give together, as the united family that we are.

On our part, Willka Hampi

We will animate the encountering and facilitate the interactions with the Piaroa of Venezuela;
we will conduct discussions on the base of text readings about the path of life, the universal bases of philosophy, the purpose of our medicine connection, the sense of taking sacred plants, the methodology to prepare oneself to enter in ceremony and to discover the teachings that come in ceremonies;
we will introduce the participants to Mama Coca;
we will give the Temazcal rituals.

On their part, Hotuja

They will be in charge of the ceremonies and will serve the Yopo medicine.
They will animate discussions about their cosmovision, shamanism and their tradition.

Yopo

The purpose of the medicine of Yopo transmitted by Don Bolívar and his ancestors is to make appear circles composed of medicine and leader couples, having the function of participating in the emergence of a healthy human society, living in peace and harmony with nature.

Yopo has the great potentiality to reveal to us our real identity and the truthfulness of our absolute relations; with which we serve life and we walk it until the final destination, always in expansion!

Honour the Yopo

Giving the medicine of Yopo, we desire first to honour and thank this incredible Grandfather medicine for the extraordinary service that he offers us.

Through this programme we wish to share the complementary riches encountered by our two clans through the Yopo connection.

Expand

We hope, through these encounterings, to expand our service, our mystical encounterings and to open our consciousness a bit more for the good of all.

Where will the programme take place?

The programme will take place in our community in Huayllaquen; its remote space is the most favourable for these types of encounterings with ceremonies.

A look at the content

An introduction to Mama Coca;
a Temazcal at the beginning of the programme and another to conclude it;
three to four Yopo ceremonies served by the Piaroa of Venezuela;
an optional Yopo ceremony served by our collective;
discussions with them about the ceremonies;
at least one narrative encountering about their tradition, cosmovision and shamanism;
about 6 to 8 encounterings with us for discussions based on texts.

Open up to the inconceivable, the great mystery,
such is the direction of the Yopo medicine!

Fundraising and proceeds

The funds generated by the programmes will be primarily destined to sustain the Piaroa clan of Venezuela and their projects.

Especially the launch of the first intercultural and Amazonian tribe schools to transmit the precious wisdom to the next generations. And where sacred knowledge will be shared, not only for the young tribes nearby, but also for each person that perceives the value of their tradition, and of their wisdom in relation with nature; in the face of the ecological and social problems of the modern world.

This is a fair reciprocation in front of the treasure that you will encounter in these ceremonies of an authentic connection with the ancestral medicine of Yopo. Everyone wins!

Council of elders

In addition to these programmes, we will organise an encountering of medicine people established in the path, for an exchange with the Piaroa of Venezuela. The purpose is that these leaders and guardians of the ancestral wisdom reunite in a council of elders, among indigenous peoples, to, based on traditional wisdom, organise themselves to make appear together, in collaboration, a new humanity.
